Our Prince George Expedition Part 2
With four tanks of gas, one carefully curated road trip playlist, and countless tortilla chips inhaled, we finally made it back to Prince George for another Intensive week of learning. Driving for 6 hours along a beautiful highway makes for a great memory. Somehow I was more excited about this week’s classes as I knew we would engage in more hands-on activities. Though our professors managed to keep us on our toes, I was ready for anything. Looking back, I can confidently say that I enjoyed every lesson we had. The week started off strong with another incredible lecture from Karine. Then a week of fun activities followed. From campus-wide scavenger hunts with the Prince George Second Year cohort (which really brought our competitive sides) to game shows where we learned about probability. We were also incredibly blessed to have shared the space twice with local artist and overall rockstar Clayton Gauthier. Having the opportunity to learn and listen to Clayton share his art with us was the most humbling experience. Admittedly, struggling to draw reminded me that no matter where we are in life, we are still learners mastering our craft or at least working on it. This trip also made me realize how much I appreciate my class. I hold nearly to my heart each memory, story, and joke we shared. Teaching is all about relationships, both in and out of the classroom. I know that sharing this experience with my peers will make me a better educator in the future as we all witness each other’s growth.
